Included in this discussion however, is also a recognition of the foundations of teaching, research, and service that forms the foundations of our discipline.

Introducing the Rex Campbell Award For Scholar Activism

Special Association Tribute to                           Dr. Rex campbell

This years conference luncheon will honor and recognize Missouri Rural Sociologist Dr. Rex Campbell. We are creating the Dr. Rex Campbell Award for Scholar Activism, this award will be given awarded by the association to recognize scholar, activist in Missouri who have demonstrated years of community service, teaching and scholarly contributions. Dr. Campbell has 50+ years of service in Sociology in the state of Missouri, he is professor emeritus from the University of Missouri, Rural Sociology Department. Dr. Campbell has a legacy of successful students and he still continues to participate in university and community service. Education: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Rural Sociology, A 1958 – 1965 He has served as a full time university professor from October 1954 – September 2007 (53 years).
